When you have a customer service job, you actually refer to people working in call centers. This job is done at a great distance using phones and computer tools. There are two categories for call center jobs – inbound, where customers call the center’s agents and the outbound calls where agents call customers. Usually, call centers own websites; however this job can be done home-based. Big companies in Europe and the US have outsourced call center services specifically in Asia; and this is where call center in the Philippines comes in.

Telecommunications companies, credit card companies, airlines industry, Internet providers, cable companies are few of the companies that require call center services. This is because these companies seldom have the time to attend to their customers. Customer's concern usually vary from questions, issues and complaints. And these companies have resorted to outsourcing these jobs to call centers like in the Philippines.

Indian call centers are in demand as it is produces excellent quality work at a low price. Philippines ranks second as Filipinos are noted to be good speakers and writers of the English language, conscientious and diligent workers, and get the job done at a very low cost.


Employees working for call centers Philippines are called representatives, specialists or agents. These people are headed by team leads who manage 15-20 agents. It is headed by an operations manager who handles 4-5 teams. His main task is to control incoming calls and track those who are absent. Quality monitoring team listens to agents’ calls randomly and ensure that everyone is following the office code of conduct. Trainers train agents for language and product specifics. And the overall operations of the site is controlled and managed by a site manager.

Inbound call center works for customer’s queries. Customer service takes charge of answering calls and resolving issues with customers which can be unforeseeable at times. That is why it is advisable that agents are equipped with sufficient knowledge and training about its products, the language and culture.

Outbound call center requires agents to call prospective customers. They are provided with a list of information that contain names and contact number of preferred clients. What is done here is that agents offer and promote direct selling of specific products like insurance and credit cards.


Many think working in a call center is an easy job, an easy way to earn money but it is not. You actually sit there for over eight hours on a graveyard shift that alters your body clock. You also need to possess good communication skills that allow you to handle at least 60-80 calls per shift. People with so much patience are the ones who stick to a call center environment. After all, working for a call center in the Philippines is probably the best way to deal with people of different nationalities.
